Le Gruyère AOC supports from today the European Athletics' family.
After being a partner in two successful European Athletics events in 2006, Le Gruyère AOC has entered now a long-term partnership with European Athletics, Europe's governing body for athletics.
"With the European Athletics Championships 2010 in Barcelona around the corner, this partnership is a tremendous opportunity to promote our product across the continent", says Philippe Bardet, Managing Director of the Interprofession du Gruyère.
The partnership comprises all of European Athletics top events, such as the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2009 in Turin, SPAR European Team Championships, European Athletics Indoor Cup and SPAR European Cross Country Championships, and includes visibility on TV, in event promotion and at the event all over Europe.
Christian Milz, Director General of European Athletics, expressed his delight about the new partnership: "Le Gruyère AOC is a natural and healthy product which fits perfectly with our new brand strategy promoting health and fitness across the continent. We are looking forward to many joint activities which will help us both to shape our image and promote our respective brands."
The promotion of the "Le Gruyère AOC Switzerland" cheese during the partnership is of paramount importance. On the event sites, spectators from every country will benefit from offered tastings of this savoury cheese, which has an AOC quality label.
European Athletics is the continental governing body for the sport of athletics. With its different high-profile European Championships events, European Athletics is close to many millions of people across Europe and offers a quality platform for corporate sponsors.
Le Gruyère AOC Switzerland is a cheese, which is hand-made in a traditional way since many centuries. Made in Western Switzerland, production follows very specific requirements. This submission to the requirements earns the cheese the distinction "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée", which expresses both the distinct quality of the product as well as a specified geographical origin.
Le Gruyère AOC is delighted to be a partner of these major international events and sets high hopes in the promotion of its product in all European markets, where the presence of Le Gruyère cheese is continuously increasing.
